Breaking News + App Reviews

I am changing my previous review because you have changed what you are writing to one sentence and leaving the rest of a full paragraph. I look at breaking news to get the full headline and not just a few words that send me to another page. Come on, go back to what you did before make the comment enough that I can at least find out what the name of the Emmy winner was without having to go to another page. I am sure I can find another app if you dont change this back to what it used to be!!!!!

How do they deliver such timely news, story threads, and fast alerts (I use several news apps - Breaking News is usually first), and not charge anything for it? I know humans are at the helm, not a computer (the editors on duty are shown at the top of the screen), so how do they pay these people if they charge me nothing? I dont know how, but Im grateful that they do. Thanks team, keep up the great work.

The layout needs a complete overhaul. I figured with iOS 10 that this app would get a needed fresh. Nope! Developers continue to ignore this request. Layout is DATED!

I like ability to look up emerging stories...but the title Breaking News is very misleading. I got this and was hoping to get actual breaking news alerts on big stories, but that rarely happens. We have huge news stories going on all across the U.S. on a daily basis and no alerts. However, I just got an alert about electricity being out across Puerto Rico. The breaking news alerts that do come out(few and far between) are usually not very big stories from outside the U.S. If you want breaking news alerts on your phone that you can tailor to what you are interested in, try USA Today or the Associated Press app. They do a much better job.

This is a great news app. You can choose which breaking news stories that you want to follow closely, both internationally or locally, and by topic, such as "shootings" or "earthquakes," and you get exactly the information you desire. Breaking news is always ahead of anything you can find on national and international news services, and many come directly from Twitter, without having to scroll through anything or searching through posts. Users also have the opportunity to make their own posts of breaking news close to them. There are always editors on duty who identify themselves, who do a great job with verification/corrections of posted breaking news, which comes from many legitimate resources worldwide. I love this app! Great job, and thanks!

If you want to be the first to get breaking news, this is the app for you. Ive got a bunch of news apps with iPhone notifications, "Breaking News" almost always beats the rest, with not only the first notification, but finding all the important stories.

Amazing this Apple News App is showing highly liberal news agencies as lead stories. NY Times & Washington Post are not reliable/truth news stories

I had to return to upgrade my rating. I now begin and end my day with this app and have come to really appreciate the alerts (although after the last update, I keep being told I have multiple alerts when in fact nothing new has appeared). It provides headlines, so no network bias, and a link if you need more info. Lately theyve included more photos, which is great. Very handy on ipad. I cant say enough good about this app.

Thought this app was the best for a few years until they started getting involved in the US election by posting unfair and biased news in relation to the election. Very disappointed in the editors and owners of the app. Not only did you lose me but you lost all my friends and family who had also downloaded your app.

GREAT news app!!! I can always count on this news app to bring me ALL the latest, most up to date news info around the world. I love that I can open links and news sources when they are provided with the updates. Cant say enough great things about it. Thx !

Had this app for years and then, as the election approached, saw that news filters in differently than other collective news feeds. I then found out NBC was behind this app and thats all I wanted to know. It uses the Twitter, NBC affiliates, New York Times, Washington Post and the Boston Globe primarily as news feeds. No news slanting there. DELETE

Works wonderfully. I only wish that I could get push notifications for more than 10 issues.

Great app providing first to know news updates. I would like to search the map to see hot topics from around the globe (see how periscope implemented).

Just another biased liberal news feed, just like the rest of the media.

Here, in Hawaii, we get news only twice a day on local TV, and then its VERY limited. With breaking news, I get all the important happenings immediately. As I wake up, I can check world-wide and local overnight news!

This is my go-to news app, and I think the editors do a pretty good job. Unfortunately I have to kill the app after using it because it uses more battery in the background than it does while Im actually reading news! (and this is with background app refresh and push alerts turned off) So, only three stars so far.

Any news app citing Mother Jones as a viable news source is not a news app but a propaganda app.
